Students were asked to design a research facility for the non-profit organization, EarthWatch, with a location of our own choice. This facility will later become an eco lodge when the research is concluded. I chose the mountain area of Bitou Cape in northern Taiwan because that is one of my favorite ocean front spots in Taiwan where I grew up, and the Bitou village has many vacant buildings that can be reused. Taiwan is full of nature resources that are sustainable.
